Ministry to the Homeless, Marginalised, Disadvantaged, and the Poor

We live in a metropolitan city, but we also see many living in poverty and being marginalised. We seek to serve the homeless, the poor, the elderly and disadvantaged families, through working with two organisations.

St Barnabas Society and Home (SBSH)

Tel: (852) 2548-9056 | www.sbsh.org.hk

St Barnabas Society and Home (SBSH), founded in 1987, serves many homeless who suffer from unemployment, poverty, broken relationships, or mental illness on Hong Kong Island. It operates a drop-in centre providing hot meals, showers and relief items to those who are in need, whilst sharing the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ with them. In recent years, it seeks to reach out to the low income families around the centre. We have a team regularly involved in serving those at SBSH.

Fuk Lam Church

Tel: (852) 2385-2396 | www.fuklam.org

Fuk Lam Church has been serving in our local community since 1988. Its mission is to see “Jesus in Temple Street.” It conducts regular street evangelism at Temple Street to reach out to the homeless, the elderly, prostitutes, new immigrants and disadvantaged families around the neighbourhood. It sends teams to visit the local community regularly. A team from our church goes out to visit the elderly, low income families on a monthly basis.

Home of Loving Faithfulness (HOLF) has provided a safe home for the severely physically and mentally disabled since 1985. It was founded by two church members, Valerie Conibear and Wendy Blackmur. A team of volunteers visits the home monthly. There are also individuals and families who go, visit, and serve on a regular basis.
