Refugees & Asylum Seekers Ministry

There are thousands of people in Hong Kong seeking asylum and refugee status and more people are coming in because of the recent unrest in the Middle East. They receive limited humanitarian assistance from Hong Kong government. We partner with Chungking Mansions Service Centre of Christian Action (CMSC) which provides basic humanitarian assistance to the asylum seekers. A basic English class is offered to asylum seekers who need to learn English on Tuesday morning in our church.

There are many nationalities living in our city and some of them are marginalised minorities. Inner City Ministries (ICM) was first started by St Andrew’s Church to reach out to these less privileged groups living in our neighbourhood. Over the years, it developed into an independent ministry serving mainly the South Asian community particularly the Nepalese in Jordan and Yau Ma Tei, and eager to see their lives being transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
